The first five sign-ups are free
The first 5 that sign up get it for free.
There are five free seats available for writers who need a beta reader.
You'll receive a complete Reader's Verdict beta read at no cost — including the full Elevation Walkthrough. It is the same system a paying writer receives, and your free seat asks one thing in return — the short questionnaire after your briefs arrive.
Answering it is voluntary, and nothing is ever held back waiting for it — your briefs arrive first, complete, every time.
Seats are issued in the order sign-ups are received.
Nothing to set up.
You sign up, sign in with your seat code, and read. The read runs on our own account, through our own server — no account, key, or setup of your own is needed.
We hold every release to one standard before a writer ever sees it: proven on complete manuscripts, first page to last.
That standard is what the room delivers to you.
It lets The Reader's Verdict deliver the depth, continuity, and reading experience we built the system to provide — including something especially important to us:
We don't just flag what the system finds. We explain it.
The Reader's Verdict shows you where something happened, what was found, why it affected the reading experience, and what you may want to look at more closely.
Then the Elevation Walkthrough takes you through those findings with suggestions and examples of possible ways to address them — without rewriting your story or making the decisions for you.
Because a beta read shouldn't leave you wondering what the feedback meant.
It should help you understand it.
Your manuscript. Your decisions. Your story.
Sign-ups are open.
There are five seats and there will not be more. They are issued in the order sign-ups arrive, and when they are gone this page will say so.
Sign up now rather than later. While this page says sign-ups are open, seats remain.
What you get, and what it costs you
Both halves, stated plainly, before you decide.
What it costs you
Nothing. There is no payment, no card, no account to open anywhere else, and no obligation of any kind.
If you want to tell us how it went, we would love to hear it, and we will ask you once — warmly, and only after your deliverables are already in your hands. You are free to say nothing. Nothing you receive depends on it.
What you get
A complete beta read of one manuscript: every page, first to last, under the same controlled conditions every read gets. Two detailed briefs. Your Current Read, and the Estimated Potential after the priority revisions. Every finding is tied to its location and supporting evidence in your manuscript — with a quoted line whenever one exists.
The Elevation Walkthrough, which shows you why something was flagged and not just what.
What you need to take part
A seat code, and a manuscript. Sign in at the door with your seat code and the read runs on our own account — there is nothing to install and nothing of yours to set up. We will never ask you for a password to any account of yours. From us, the beta read costs you nothing.
- A seat code — issued when you sign up, required to sign in
- One manuscript that is your own original work, complete enough to read end to end
- An email address — one free seat is held for each address
- Nothing else. No payment, no card, and no obligation of any kind
How the free seats run
You go through the same path a paying writer goes through — the same button, the same sign-in, the same room. The only difference is that the house finds one of the five free seats left for you, so there is nothing to pay.
You press Get Your Seat
Here, or on the pricing page. It opens the door, and the house counts the seats: while one of the five is left, it is yours.
You give your name and your email
One free seat for each writer. Your seat code appears on your screen at once — copy it or save it there, because it is shown once. To sign in, now or any time later: Come back to trv.lovingmywords.com/door, paste your seat code in the box at the top, and press Sign In.
You sign in
With your seat code, at the door — the same door every buyer signs in at. Nothing to install, nothing to set up.
You submit your manuscript
And the room reads it, whole, at the one senior standard. Nothing is sampled.
You receive your deliverables
Both briefs, in full, the moment they are built. Nothing is held back, at any stage, for any reason.
If the room finds at your first pages that it cannot honestly read your manuscript at the standard a final beta read demands, it stops and tells you so — and nothing is asked of you in return. That was already true of every read here, and it stays true: a read that never happened is never asked for anything.
How to take a seat
One button. Press it and the house counts the seats for you: while any of the five free seats is left, you give your name and your email address and your seat code appears on your screen, once. When the five are gone, the same button offers the next seat, at the price on the pricing page.
Five free seats, for the first five writers who press the button.
Save your code the moment you see it — the code on your screen is the one copy you can count on, and the door gives you a button to copy it and a button to save it.
Already have a seat code? Sign in with your seat code — the box at the top of the door is where it goes.
Not ready to take a seat?
The five free seats and ordering are two different things, and it is worth being clear about which you want. A free seat is the complete system, at no cost, for the first five writers who ask. Ordering is open on the pricing page for everyone else, in the ordinary way.
You are welcome on either. Not both — a seat is one manuscript, and so is a read.
Writing in another language? It’s coming.
Today The Reader’s Verdict reads manuscripts written in English. Native-language reads are coming soon, and each language opens only once it has been proven on real full-length novels written in it. If you would like to hear the moment yours opens, write to us: support@lovingmywords.com.
