Frequently asked questions

What is The Reader's Verdict?

The Reader's Verdict reads your complete manuscript, shows you where, how, why, and when the reading experience changed โ€” then walks you through the findings so you understand not only what was flagged, but why it matters and what you might do next.

What happens after I receive my findings?

The Elevation Walkthrough. Your Elevation Brief walks you through every flag, chapter by chapter — what it is, why it was raised, and what it means for the manuscript — and every decision about it stays yours. Your two documents are yours to keep, forever.

Is the Elevation Walkthrough editing my manuscript?

No. The Walkthrough helps you understand what the read found and shows you possible ways to address it. It does not rewrite your manuscript or make the decision for you. The story remains yours.

Why not just hire a human beta reader?

You can โ€” and The Reader's Verdict doesn't tell you not to. A human reader gives you valuable individual reaction. The Reader's Verdict gives you a controlled, consistent read that you can use before, after, or alongside human beta readers. They answer different questions.

Why is it faster?

The Reader's Verdict does not have the scheduling, fatigue, workload, or reading interruptions that naturally come with human beta reading. It was built specifically to read and evaluate manuscripts in a continuous, structured process.

In practice that means a complete beta read finishes faster, end to end, than you expect — subject to manuscript length, file condition, and system availability.

Is AI involved? Tell me straight.

Yes. The Reader's Verdict is an AI-powered beta-reading system built to provide a consistent, detailed reading of a manuscript. It offers observations, ratings, opportunities, and suggestions. It does not replace the author's judgment, and it does not claim that one evaluation can determine the value of a story.

Nothing to set up. You sign up, sign in with your seat code, and read. The read runs on our own account — you never need an account with anyone else.

We prove every release on complete manuscripts — first page to last — before a writer sees it. The testing record on this site names the runs, what was proved, and what was not.

The Reader’s Verdict is an independent system developed by Loving My Words.

What happens to my manuscript?

Your manuscript reaches our own system for one reason: to run your read there. Our server sends your pages to the reading service that reads them, and nowhere else — we do not use it to train anything, never share it, never republish it, never show it to another writer, and never carry it out of your session into anyone else’s.

The whole covenant is on Privacy.

Will it rewrite my story or change my voice?

No. The Reader's Verdict does not take control of the manuscript, does not make the author's choices, and does not need to rewrite the author's story to provide value. Suggestions come with examples so you can see what they mean โ€” but the writer decides, every time. We may show you an example of how a problem could be approached. The example is there to demonstrate the principle โ€” not to replace your words. Your manuscript. Your choices.

What is AI Pattern Recognition?

The Reader's Verdict reviews the manuscript for language patterns commonly associated with AI-assisted writing and flags areas worth a closer look. These are pattern observations, not claims of authorship. No human or AI system can determine authorship with absolute certainty. The full statement of that boundary is on the deliverables page, and what happens to a flag once it is raised is on the walkthrough page.

What if my manuscript isn't in English?

Today The Reader's Verdict reads manuscripts written in English. Native-language reads are coming soon: each language opens only after it has been proven on real, full-length novels written in it. Until yours opens, please wait rather than buy a seat for it. The free manuscript check tells you before you buy, and if a manuscript that is not in English is uploaded anyway, the door stops it at upload โ€” before your seat is used and before anything is read.

English today. Native languages coming soon.

What is The Reader's Verdict not?

The Reader's Verdict is not an editor, not a ghostwriter, and not a judge whose one evaluation determines the value of a story. It is not a substitute for your own judgment. And a beta read in a language is not a claim that The Reader's Verdict can write or line edit at native literary level in that language โ€” those are different capabilities, held to a different standard.

What exactly do I receive?

Two detailed deliverables: THE VERDICT and THE ELEVATION BRIEF. What each one contains is laid out in full on The Deliverables.

How do I get access?

The Reader’s Verdict is open for orders. Go to the pricing page and press Get Your Seat: checkout opens at Stripe, then your seat code is shown on your screen at the door, once — save it there. A question before you buy is welcome at support@lovingmywords.com, and a person answers it.

How long can my manuscript be, and what file should I send?

We take manuscripts up to 120,000 words, and the machinery has been tested to that size — tested as carrying, not as a complete read. Manuscripts larger than 120,000 words may produce errors — we recommend novels under 120,000 words. We cannot guarantee a complete beta read above 120,000 words — contact us first, and we will tell you honestly whether it is a fit. Submit a clean .docx file.

What do I need to run it?

Nothing. You sign up, sign in with your seat code, and read — there is nothing to install and nothing of your own to set up. The read runs on our own account.

How do I get started?

Buy a seat, or claim one of the first five free. Sign in at the door with your seat code, answer three short questions, and upload your manuscript — the read runs on our own account from there.

If anything at all gives you trouble, write to support@lovingmywords.com and we will get you through it.

Are there usage limits?

There is no meter to watch: one license covers one complete manuscript, of up to 120,000 words, from first page to last.

If something pauses your read, nothing is lost: every finished part is kept with your seat, and the read picks up from its last checkpoint.

What does my license cover?

One license serves one work: the complete read, the two briefs and the Elevation Walkthrough of that same manuscript. The engagement then closes, and a new work is a new license. There is no revision round: a revised manuscript later is a new beta read, at the full price — the same as it would be with any reader — never a resumed one.

The whole of it is on Terms.

What does a full-novel read look like, session by session?

You do not manage sessions. Once you begin, the read works through your novel on our server, block by block, until your documents are ready — you can close the page meanwhile.

It works this way for one reason: the room never pretends to hold a whole novel in one breath. Every page is read at full attention, and what carries from one block to the next is written down and checked before the read may continue โ€” that is what keeps a novel-length read honest.

Should I send my first draft or my revised draft?

Any complete draft. The room reads what is on the page, at the same standard either way โ€” a first draft receives the same complete read, the same two briefs and the same Elevation Walkthrough as a polished one.

Send it at the moment you want the truth about where it stands: the verdict names where these pages are today and where the named revisions could take them, and that answer is useful at either moment.

Which engine does it run on?

Our own — tuned to read complete manuscripts, first page to last, at one senior standard. You do not choose or configure anything.

I lost my seat code โ€” what do I do?

Your seat code is shown once, at the moment your seat is claimed or bought — that is why the door asks you to copy it or save it before you continue. If the page you signed in on is still open, you are still signed in: carry on from there.

If it is not, write to support@lovingmywords.com from the email address you claimed or bought your seat with, and the house will re-issue your access. Your seat is kept, and nothing your read has finished is lost.

Where do I paste my seat code?

At trv.lovingmywords.com/door — the box at the top of the page. Paste your seat code there and press Sign In.
